QRIS Early Adopters
The Department of Early Learning has selected the Quality Rating and Improvement System Early Adopters for 2011-2012. Early adopters have the opportunity to continue receiving coaching, scholarships, training and incentives to help support efforts to offer high-quality care.
To be considered, early adopters had to meet these requirements:
- Participated in the Seeds to Success field test
- Have spring 2011 Seeds follow-up evaluation data
- Serve at least four children ages birth through age 5
- Have an active state child care license, with no suspensions or revocations, and not currently on probation
- No pattern of licensing non-compliance (two or more valid complaints of the same type within the past 12 months)
- Serve children who receive state child care subsidies
Early Adopters Partial Ratings
As a testament to their commitment to ongoing quality improvement and supporting children and families in their care,
Washington’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) early adopters are sharing spring 2011 assessment data and current professional development data which up to this point has been confidential. Although this is not a comprehensive facility rating, assessment and professional development scores will account for up to 65 out of 100 points in the new quality standards framework.
Early Adopters Partial Ratings
On July 1, 2012, the state will be wiped clean and these scores will be removed from the DEL website. DEL will begin regional implementation of Washington’s QRIS, Early Achievers on July 1, 2012.
