The Washington State Legislature often requires state agencies to submit reports on their work and investments. Here are several of DEL’s reports to the Governor and Legislature:

The 2010 supplemental budget directed DEL to develop a plan for how the agency can improve our child care licensing practices to help increase efficiency, enhance relationships with providers and improve the quality of child care in Washington.
• WaKIDS

These mid -year reports describe the project, implementation and highlight initial data from participating schools in the Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills (WaKIDS) pilot project.

Preliminary report from the University of Washington

2010

• Early Learning Professional Development System Report and Recommendations [10MB]
  Per HB 1943, this report reviews research and best practices, identifies systemic gaps and assets, and provides detailed recommendations for improving the knowledge and skills of professionals in the early learning field.
• Washington State Birth to 3 Plan [2.9 MB]
  House Bill 2867 asked DEL to submit a "comprehensive plan to provide education and support through a continuum of options" for infants and toddlers.

  A brief status update summarizing the progress of the Professional Development Consortium (PD Consortium), as required in Substitute House Bill 1943.
