Nonexpiring Child Care Licenses
The Department of Early Learning (DEL) has updated the rules regarding nonexpiring child care licenses. A nonexpiring license replaces the full and renewal license processes used before. Learn more about nonexpiring licenses.
What is happening now?
DEL has adopted permanent rules that will take effect on May 17, 2012.
How does a provider receive or maintain a nonexpiring license?
The child care licensee must submit the following documents to DEL 30 days prior to the anniversary date of the license:
- Annual licensing fees
- Declaration of compliance
- Background check information
How will licensees be notified that the required documents are due?
The licensing fee invoice is sent to the licensee 90 days prior to the anniversary date. The invoice has information about maintaining a nonexpiring license. Note: A child care license expires if the licensee does not meet the annual requirements to maintain a nonexpiring license. If the license expires, the licensee must submit a new license application and wait up to 90 days for DEL to process the license and inspect the facility./p>
