ELAC meetings
The Early Learning Advisory Council meets quarterly. At each meeting, ELAC members get updates on DEL's work, and provide input and recommendations to DEL. ELAC is tasked by the Legislature with creating a statewide early learning plan.
At past ELAC meetings, members have received information about and discussed various issues, including:
- How DEL developed its five-year strategic plan
- DEL's efforts to build public awareness of the importance of a child's first years
- Using a framework to build early learning systems
Members of the public are welcome to attend ELAC meetings. A public comment period is offered near the end of each meeting.
The dates scheduled for ELAC meetings in 2009 are:
- March 9
- June 15
- September 14
- November 5
