The Washington State Child Care Resource & Referral (R&R) Network, through a partnership with the Department of Early Learning, was created in statute to support families and caregivers, shape policy, and build communities that promote the learning and development of children and youth throughout Washington State through a strong statewide network of local child care resource and referral programs. The Washington State Child Care Resource & Referral Network:
- Provides referrals for families to licensed child care, other resources in local communities and steps for choosing a quality child care provider
- Supports child care providers by offering professional training, educational scholarships, onsite consultation and resources
- Partners with local agencies and employers to strengthen the child care system
- Provides data on child care supply and demand
The statewide resource & referral system currently is undergoing a reorganization guided by the Washington State Child Care Resource & Referral Network Board.
