Department of Early Learning launches new Web site
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Early Learning (DEL) today launched its new Web site, featuring more information on topics including child development, licensed child care and early learning partnerships around the state.
“The DEL Web site is one of our most important tools for communicating with parents—children’s first and most important teachers—as well as child caregivers and other visitors,” said DEL Director Jone Bosworth. “Our new Web site offers more information and resources for people interested in helping children in their earliest years. We will continue to build up our site based on what community members tell us they want and need.”
Among the new features on the site is a section called “What Have You Done to Help a Child Today?” designed to gather information from members of the public on what they’ve done to help children in their daily lives. The section offers tips on easy, fun ways to create a child-friendly Washington.
After a competitive bid process, DEL selected Ramp Group of Bellevue to help design the new site. The design and content are based on input from parents, child care providers, members of DEL’s Early Learning Advisory Council and DEL staff.
